Spring Game Wrap. 7 Drafted, 4 UDFA. Lockley Jr. Commits.

Three days, three storylines. The spring game closed Combat 17, Fighting 10, decided by Brock Thomas finding Dakorien Moore for a 60-yard walk-off TD with 0:20 left in Q4. Stewart was the star (4 catches, 110 yards, 1 TD; Lanning called it 'Evan's best spring since I've been here'). The defense was the story. Seven Ducks were drafted in 2026: Sadiq, Thieneman (R1), Pregnon (R3 JAX), Canady (R4 KC), Boettcher (R4 IND), Benson (R6 LV), Harkey (R6 LAC). Four more signed UDFA on Apr 26: Whittington (HOU), World (LAC, recovering from a torn ACL), Basso (DEN, reuniting with Bo Nix), and Sappington (MIN minicamp invite). Eleven Ducks total joining NFL organizations from this class. The 2027 recruiting class added 4-star LB Brandon Lockley Jr. from Philadelphia (St. Joseph's Prep) on Apr 26 over Alabama, LSU, and Penn State. With Will Mencl (5-star QB, the 2027 class headliner) committed Apr 22, Oregon's 2027 group is at 11 commits and No. 6 nationally per Rivals. National recruiting reach is real. Site update: five new pieces shipped to round out the 2026 cluster.
Three player profiles for the spring game's biggest names (Evan Stewart, Jamari Johnson, Jerry Mixon), a new full coaching staff matrix at /coaching-staff/ covering all 16 coaches with year hired and prior stop, and a depth-chart deep-link upgrade on /roster/ so every position group can be linked directly via #depth-quarterbacks, #depth-wide-receivers, etc. Cleanup pass corrected stale title-line bios on /drew-mehringer/ and /chris-hampton/ pages (verified against goducks.com), updated drifted page-count strings, and de-hardcoded the spotlight freshness date so future profiles ship dated. Four-star LB Brandon Lockley Jr.
(6-1, 235) committed to Oregon during spring game weekend. The St. Joseph's Prep linebacker from Philadelphia chose the Ducks over Alabama, LSU, Penn State, Nebraska, and Duke. Rankings vary by source: No. 234 / No. 21 LB per Rivals250, No. 330 / No. 28 LB per Rivals Industry Composite. Oregon offered Nov 2, 2025 and got him on an Autzen visit for the spring game. The pickup pushes the 2027 class to 11 commits, joining Will Mencl (5-star QB, committed Apr 22), Semaj Stanford (4-star S, Apr 23), Ai'King Hall (4-star CB), and Rashad Streets (4-star EDGE). The defense is the early identity of this class. National recruiting reach is real: Lockley is 3,000 miles from Eugene and chose Oregon anyway.

Four undrafted Oregon Ducks signed NFL deals after the 2026 NFL Draft, expanding the rookie pipeline.
RB Noah Whittington (829 rushing yards, 6 TDs in 2025; 2,950 career yards) signed with the Houston Texans. OT Isaiah World (6-8, 315) signed with the Los Angeles Chargers despite his torn ACL from the CFP semifinal vs Indiana, which is expected to cost him training camp and possibly his entire rookie season. LS Luke Basso (All-Big Ten First Team in 2025) signed with the Denver Broncos and gets to reunite with Bo Nix. K Atticus Sappington (51-of-61 FG, 83.6% career, 51-yard long vs Washington) earned a rookie minicamp invite from the Minnesota Vikings. Combined with the seven drafted Ducks, that's 11 Oregon players joining NFL organizations from the 2026 class. Pipeline working as designed.

Lanning post-spring-game presser: 'Fun day.
There's a lot of things you can walk away with and say, Okay, we gotta work on some things, but ultimately, it was fun seeing our guys out there compete.' On Evan Stewart: 'This has been Evan's best spring since I've been here. I'm really excited about the growth.' On Dylan Raiola: 'I just saw a guy that enjoys playing football. I saw him light up in his face.' On the team: 'The intelligence of this group is really high and that committed ability to execute offense and defensive plays is really up there.' On the college football calendar: 'Move it up. Move it up. I've been very clear, but I think it solves a lot of problems in college football. The closer we can get the season ending to January 1, the better.' Year 5 starts with a head coach who likes what he sees in the room.

Spring game wrap: Combat 17, Fighting 10, decided by a Brock Thomas to Dakorien Moore 60-yard walk-off TD with 0:20 left in Q4.
Evan Stewart was the MVP, finishing with 4 catches, 110 yards, and a 76-yard touchdown from Dylan Raiola, looking 'completely healthy' a year after his torn patellar tendon (per Duck Wire). Five QBs took reps: Dante Moore opened the scoring with a TD pass to TE Jamari Johnson, Brock Thomas hit the game-winner, Akili Smith Jr. and R-Freshman Mark Wiepert (Portland) saw late series. The defense combined for 10 sacks (with no-tackle on QBs but real pressure) and looked, per Duck Wire, like a unit that 'will give opponents nightmares in 2026.' New kicker Gage Hurych went 2 of 4 (made 35 and 45, missed twice from beyond 50). Five-star early enrollees Jett Washington, Kendre Harrison, Anthony Jones Jr., and Tommy Tofi got their first Autzen reps. No injuries reported, no commitments announced.

Day 3 of the NFL Draft added four more Ducks to the 2026 class, pushing the total to seven.
Kansas City selected CB Jadon Canady at No. 109 in Round 4, landing him on the Mahomes/Reid roster as a versatile slot/outside corner who played five different positions at Oregon. Indianapolis traded with Pittsburgh to move up and grab LB Bryce Boettcher at No. 135, also Round 4, capping the walk-on-to-NFL story (Boettcher was being interviewed about his pick on the radio broadcast during live spring-game play). Las Vegas took WR Malik Benson at No. 195 in Round 6, betting on the 4.37 speed and the punt return tape. The Chargers grabbed Alex Harkey at No. 206, also Round 6, projecting him as a guard rather than tackle in their official release. With Sadiq, Thieneman, and Pregnon already off the board, that's seven 2026 draft picks. Three remaining prospects (Isaiah World, Jabbar Muhammad, Nikko Reed, Gary Bryant Jr.) are UDFA-eligible. The Lanning pipeline keeps producing.
